In June 1954, Agnès Varda opened the doors of her house on Rue Daguerre in Paris to present a selection of portraits, nudes and still lifes as perceived through her “curious eyes”. Striking in style, these images, foreshadowing a unique body of work, crystallize the delicate relationship between photography and cinema that Agnès Varda maintained throughout her career as a filmmaker.
