In 1954 with La Pointe-Courte, Agnès Varda produced a film so radical it was considered a precursor to the Nouvelle Vague. This work brings together scenes, atmospheres and still shots inspired by her first movie filmed in the eponymous district in Sète. The book synonymously illustrates the transition from photographer to filmmaker, the depth of her creative approach and the emergence of her radically free and poetic artistic vision. ⁠
